I have been on the Virgin Galactic astronaut list for over ten years. My spot in line is 444, and the wait has been long. Over that time, many people have left the list, frustrated or impatient. I haven’t. Because for me, this isn’t about rushing. It is about being ready for something that only comes once in a lifetime. Seeing Earth From a New Perspective Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by the night sky. Growing up, I would often lie on my back, looking up at the stars, and imagine what it would be like to be up there looking down at Earth. That curiosity has grown into a goal of mine , and now it is something I can realistically pursue. If I could go back and tell my younger self, I don’t think I’d be able to believe it. I want to see the fragility and beauty of our planet as a tiny sphere floating in the depths of space.
